Kansas Weather

Our adventure February 24-27 gave us a great taste of the versatility of Kansas weather.  We left home on Thursday night to ice and snow.  So, we decided to only go as far as Hays that night and continue our journey in the morning.  The next day, weather was clear, but grey and drizzly.  I-70 was clear(ish) in driving lane, but still snowpacked in passing lane.  Once we turned onto I-135, the road was clear for the rest of our trip.  When we got to Augusta, our daughter said it was warm (30s).  Then Eric's dad came out and talked about how cold it was--just goes to show your perspective on things can vary widely.  The weather was clear, but grey and drizzly on Friday and Saturday.  Driving to church on Sunday morning, we had to deal with very dense fog and saw weather related traffic accidents.  Then, while having lunch, the rain and hail started.  Good thing it was finished before we were ready to leave.  Angel even called her mom to look at the weather forcast for what we would be facing driving home.  There was rain and fog until we turned onto I-70.  This just proves the old saying, "If you don't like the weather in Kansas, wait a few minutes and it will change."  Needless to say, there was no stopping along our journey and exploring any of the adventures along the way.
