45. Exploring Topeka

One of the things we learned at the Kansas Museum of History was that Taco Casa started in Topeka.  So, we went on a search to find one for lunch.  Well, lucky us, we stumbled upon the originial location and got to talk history with some of the workers.

We took advantage of the rainy weather to do some research about the other museums in Topeka.  The kids both picked the Harley Davidson Museum which is currently under construction, but still open with motorcycles available to see.  It happens to be in the basement of their store, right by the service department, so it was fun to get to watch them work on motorcycles and see some current ones as well.

Shopping at Kansas Sampler was divided
just like we're a house divided

Supper was Angel's favorite part of the Topeka adventure.  We were told that the best BBQ in Town can be found at Boss Hawgs.  So, that is how we ended our day--with great BBQ and great conversation.  We met a couple of Angel's friends from the Ms. Wheelchair organization.  It was so much fun to get to catch up and just have a great time.  We can't wait to see them again when we go to the Ms. Wheelchair Kansas crowning ceremony.
