21. Travelling in Rooks and Osborne County

Part of the fun of this adventure is the travel to the different location.  This weekend (February 5)  we travelled through Rooks and Osborne Counties.  We are trying to see as much of the countryside as we can as we travel, so for entertainment, we are listening to The Chronicles of Narnia on Focus on the Family radio theater.  We absolutely love it.  I (Angel) am not a fan of audiobooks.  In fact, they kind of drive me crazy, but radio theater is another story.  It keeps all of our attention through the whole story and allow us to still see the scenery around us.  It is especially great because our daughter is car sick, so she can still "read" a story while looking out the window and staying well, while enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Throughout our travels, there were interesting silhouettes along the way.  Keep your eye out as you travel these counties for these amazing silhouettes. I am sure we did not find them all.

We also look out for historical markers along the way.  We stumbled across the marker for the Last Indian Raid in Osborne County and the Geodesic Center of the United States.  The actual Geodesic Center is on private property 18 miles away, so we didn't actually make it to the Geodesic Center of the USA.  We hope sometime in our travels to make it to the Geographic Center of the U.S. in Smith County.  Can't wait to tell you all about it.
