141. Mounment Rocks and Keystone Gallery

Our adventure September 4 led us to Monument Rocks and the Keystone Gallery,  We had wanted to go the last weekend of August, but a Kansas summer storm had us heading home early to try to beat the weather.  Fortunately, we were successful.  So, we just revised our plan and went after our visit to Russell Springs.  The Keystone Gallery is not at all accessible.  Eric and the kiddos got to explore inside and see some rocks and fossils, while Angel sat in the van and listened to the motorcycle riders who had stopped for a drink break.  Needless to say, she was more than ready to go when the others were done exploring the gallery.

Then, it was off to explore Monument Rocks.  Eric and the kiddos had a great time checking it all out, exploring, hiking, and even catching a huge grasshopper.  I think the general consensus was that we all enjoyed Castle Rock more.  But, don't take our word for it--check them both out for yourselves and make your own decision.
