5 & 6 Post Rock Scenic By-Way and Wilson Lake in Winter

We headed up the Post Rock Scenic By-Way and looked at the limestone fence posts along the way.  We drove for miles and miles saying, "look...rock!"  We also looked in wonder and awe at the beautiful scenery and hills.  Our daughter mentioned that she thought it was even prettier since it was snow covered.  Anyone who thinks Kansas is flat should travel this area.  I know and hope to show that Kansas has varied terrain depending on which part of the state you are visiting.

While driving the Scenic By-Way, we took a detour to tour Wilson Lake in Winter.  I've never thought lakes are exactly exciting in winter, but I was pleasantly suprised.  A frozen lake is absolutely gorgeous and during what other season could we have the pleasure of watching ice fisherman?

There is beautiful scenery to be seen all around Kansas no matter what time of year it is.
