We decided to visit the highest point in Kansas on August 28. So, we followed directions and the signs to find Mt. Sunflower. When we arrived, the kiddos were looking for the mountain. There is no visible mountain, the peak is the top of a slow, gradual ascent. We enjoyed the highest peak in Kansas with a picnic lunch. While we were enjoying our lunch, other visitors came to enjoy Mt. Sunflower. It happened to be Senator Jerry Moran and his wife,Robba. Check out his FaceBook page to confirm our story. :-) How nice to see a Kansas Senator exploring the adventures of Kansas.
2011 was KS' 150th birthday. We traveled to various places in the state/experiencing 150+ things (Castle Rock, Salt Museum, Cosmosphere, Scenic Byways, Ms. Wheelchair KS Pageant, etc.). {COPYRIGHTS/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES CONTAINED HEREIN ARE OWNED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE ENTITIES, our personal thoughts on these activities are not necessarily shared by everyone, please judge for yourselves.} CLICK PICTURES FOR LARGER VIEW, THEN BROWSER BACK TO RETURN!
