Lake Scott State Park is definitely a must see and kind of a surprise. You are driving along in a relatively flat part of the state, turn into the Lake Scott State Park area and surprise!!--a lake and gorgeous recreation area. We did not get to spend as much time there as we would like--just explore for a bit. So, maybe we'll plan to come and stay longer next summer. Maybe we'll even camp out and really enjoy the state park. We did explore the El Quartelejo Pueblo Indian Ruins. There is not much to see anymore, but you can see the lower portion of the walls, so you can see how the pueblo was laid out. This would have been a gorgeous area to live in. We didn't get the greatest pictures. You will just have to visit it for youself.
2011 was KS' 150th birthday. We traveled to various places in the state/experiencing 150+ things (Castle Rock, Salt Museum, Cosmosphere, Scenic Byways, Ms. Wheelchair KS Pageant, etc.). {COPYRIGHTS/INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES CONTAINED HEREIN ARE OWNED BY THEIR RESPECTIVE ENTITIES, our personal thoughts on these activities are not necessarily shared by everyone, please judge for yourselves.} CLICK PICTURES FOR LARGER VIEW, THEN BROWSER BACK TO RETURN!
