If you are looking for a piece of the Wild West, Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City will provide just that.I know there were people concerned that we would be disappointed if it was only "boot hill" cemetery, but it is so much more than that. The original Boot Hill Cemetery and original museum are still there and accessible via a very long ramp. There is also a reconstructed western town. You can feel like to are really in the wild west as you stroll along the boardwalk. Fortunately, you can avoid the weather by walking from store to store inside the town. 
We wanted to be sure to visit Boot Hill in the summer so we could see a gunfight. We were not disappointed. The kiddos even got autographs of the fighters afterward.
