Our adventure August 13 took us to Coronado Cross Park and Ft. Dodge. You can't miss Coronado Cross Park. Just look for the huge cross at the side of the road. Angel got to enjoy it from the car--the park is not exactly wheelchair friendly (not to mention she did not have her power chair). However, Eric and the kiddos enjoyed hiking up the path and checking out the cross, as well as some of the flowers around the area.
Next we checked out historic Ft. Dodge. I had expected to see a museum honoring old Ft. Dodge and that would be all (like the other forts we have visited). However, although there is a museum and historical marker, this is a community for military veterans and their spouses. As we drove around, Angel decided we needed to live in a community that had wheelchair access to almost every home. It sure would be nice to be able to get out and go visit friends in thier homes.
What a gorgeous pond for the residents |
Every community should have wheelchair access to their tornado shelter |
