Great Wolf Lodge

Our daughter chose to celebrate her double digit birthday at Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City.  Since her birthday is in October, we decided to go when we could celebrate Howl-o-ween.  So, besides the amazing regular attractions, we got to participate in the Howl-o-ween festivities like pumpkin races down the water slide, see decorated pumpkins, trick or treat, and have a Halloween themed dance party.  It is possible to do the Hokey Poky and Thriller dance as well as others in a wheelchair.

Our Star Wars Trick or Treaters
The water park was amazing and tons of fun for the kiddos.  Our son even flipped out of the raft coming down one of the ramps for the first time.  He was fine and thought it was tons of fun although Dad and Grandpa wouldn't let him flip out again.  Our daughter loved the greeen slide the best and our son loved just swimming in the pool with the plastic snake.  I'm sure they could have stayed in there longer, but there is so much to see at Great Wolf Lodge, you don't want to miss any of it.
The hotel did not have the wheelchair room available that we had reserved.  So, they replaced it with another room.  Our daughter was thrilled at the mistake.  They room we were in had a smaller cabin themed room inside it with bunk beds.  So, the kiddos got to camp out in comfort and warmth.  That's our kind of camping.
One of our daughter's favorite parts was the Magiquest interactive game.  You take your magic wand and solve mysteries around the hotel.  The wand activates several objects and pictures around the hotel.  It will even open the treasure chests and have some of the animals on the wall growl or talk to you.    She had a great time and finished all quests.
